1. About My Service

The Home Physio Service provides physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation in clients’ homes across Bath, Wiltshire, and Frome.

All services are delivered by Nina Stuckey, a physiotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

3. Booking Appointments

Appointments can be requested via:

A booking is confirmed only once I have accepted your request verbally or in writing.

I may decline bookings where appropriate, including for reasons such as clinical unsuitability, safety concerns, or being outside the service area.

4. Fees and Payment

Fees will be clearly communicated before treatment begins and are also available on the website.

Payment is due:

  • At the time of the appointment, or

  • As otherwise agreed in writing

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Bank transfer

  • Cheque

  • Cash

If you intend to claim through insurance, you are responsible for checking your policy requirements beforehand.

5. Cancellation and Missed Appointment Policy

To ensure fair use of appointment availability, session fees may be charged as follows:

  • More than 24 hours’ notice: no charge

  • Less than 24 hours’ notice: 50% of the appointment fee may be charged

  • Missed appointments (no-shows or cancellation within one hour of the appointment start time): 100% of the appointment fee may be charged

Exceptions may be made for emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.

6. Safety During Home Visits

As a home-visiting clinician, I must ensure that the environment is safe for both you and me.

I may withdraw, postpone, or discontinue treatment if the environment is unsafe or inappropriate.

Examples include:

  • Aggressive or uncontrolled animals

  • Verbal or physical aggression

  • Threatening behaviour

  • Intoxication (alcohol or drugs)

  • Unsafe, unsanitary, or unsuitable environments

  • Disruptive behaviour from others

  • Any situation that compromises personal safety

If I attend your home and treatment cannot proceed due to safety concerns, the full appointment fee may still be charged.

This is in line with HCPC and CSP professional standards.

7. Client Responsibilities for Home Visits

7.1 Safe and Appropriate Treatment Space

Clients must provide:

  • Adequate lighting

  • Sufficient floor space

  • A smoke-free environment

  • A hazard-free area

  • A clean and hygienic space suitable for treatment

If the environment is unsuitable for safe treatment, I may decline or discontinue the session.

7.2 Pets

Pets must be kept in another room unless otherwise agreed.

This helps prevent interference, trip hazards, and safety risks.

7.3 Safe Access and Parking

Clients are responsible for ensuring:

  • Safe access to the property

  • Reasonable parking availability

  • Adequate lighting for evening appointments

If access is unsafe or unavailable, the appointment may not proceed and the fee may still apply.

7.4 Children

Children must be supervised by another adult during the appointment.

7.5 Number of People Present

To maintain safety, privacy, and clinical focus, I may request that only the client (and a necessary chaperone, if applicable) remain in the treatment area.

7.6 Infection Control

Clients must inform me of:

  • Infectious illnesses

  • Recent vomiting or diarrhoea

  • Contagious skin conditions

  • COVID-19 symptoms or recent exposure

I may postpone treatment if there is a risk of infection.

I may wear PPE if clinically appropriate.

7.7 Equipment and Furniture

I may need:

  • A chair

  • A flat surface

  • A small amount of clear floor space

I cannot:

  • Lift heavy furniture

  • Move large items

  • Work in cramped or unsafe spaces

This protects both you and me from injury.

7.8 Lone Worker Safety

As a home-visiting clinician, I follow a lone-worker safety protocol.

This may include:

  • Sending a brief check-in message to a designated safety contact

  • Making a short phone call during the session if required

  • Leaving immediately if I feel unsafe

No clinical information is shared during these safety check-ins.

8. Clinical Limitations

Physiotherapy may not be suitable for all conditions.

If I identify red flags, safeguarding concerns, or issues requiring medical review, I may:

  • Refer you to your GP

  • Recommend urgent medical attention

  • Decline or postpone treatment

This forms part of my professional duty of care.

9. Use of Email and Digital Communication

Email communication is password protected but not end-to-end encrypted.

For your safety:

  • Please avoid sending detailed medical information by email

  • If you choose to do so, you accept the associated risks

  • Alternative secure communication methods can be arranged if needed

This aligns with UK GDPR transparency requirements.
